Is it too much drudgery to manually connect the charging cord to your car? Tesla Motors is shown here with a prototype charging cord that, snake like, automatically opens the charging flap, automatically seeks out the charging port, and starts charging once connected.
It would remove one of the tasks related to electric cars – plugging in the charging cord.
Wireless charging systems is another method being developed so car owners don’t have to plug in the charging cord. By contrast, wireless charging is less efficient than wired charging. The system shown in this video has the advantage of automatically starting the charge session with no human intervention, and the advantage of the higher efficiency you get from a wired charging connection.
